Bucktail Deceiver Trolling Fly - GIZZARD SHAD
Late winter into the transition of spring draws huge congregations of gizzard shad to overwintering habitat adjacent to warmwater discharge plants of Great Lakes harbors. Cruising below the suspended pelagic schools of gizzard shad are hungry predators like brown and lake trout searching for an easy meal. When open water trolling presentations are favored, the Bucktail Deceiver trolling fly in gizzard shad color pattern is excellent at drawing aggressive strikes, especiallly during times of neutral behavior. Fly pattern features mixed blend of grey and light blue coloration for the upper back and a white underbelly combined with a hen saddle grizzly feather to simulate the black dot similarly seen on cranbaits. Multiple strands of Sparkle Flash are added as a topping combined with lateral scale flash, a thick diamater segmented flash to represent the lateral line. Available in lengths 3 through 12 inches. Models 6-inches and above come pre-rigged with double hook stinger system.
