Megladon Bucktail (BTD) Gamechanger Jig - Blueback Herring - 14-inch Model

Megladon Bucktail (BTD) Gamechanger Jig - Blueback Herring - 14-inch Model

Alaska is often characterized as land of the Giants. With monster halibut, rockfish, and lingcod, terrorizing pelagic schools of 8 to 14 inch Pacific herring (Clupea pallasi)  in the icy depths of Prince William sound, Gulf of Alaska, and Bering Sea, these benthic predators can achieve very large sizes (300-pound halibut, 60-pound lingcod, and 30- pound rockfish). Traditional applications of bottom fishing steep oceanic breaklines with herring attached to heavy lead weights (10-24 ounces), 7-9 inch jigging spoons tipped with herring, and oversized soft plastics have been proven producers. Despite the effectiveness of these techniques, they don't physically have the action and realism of a multi-articulated hair jig. The Megladon Bucktail Deceiver (BTD) Gamechanger Jig in “Blueback herring” color scheme is the ultimate multi-articulated (e.g. Gamechanger-style) hair jig designed for Alaska’s trophy benthic predators - halibut, lingcod, and rockfish. It is 14 inches in length and comes with three weight options:  8, 16, and 24 oz. The 8 and 16 ounce models are tied on swimbait heads. The 24 ounce is tied on an Ultimate Bullet jighead.  The jigheads are custom painted with a blueish-purple head and coated with multiple applications of clear coat resin (e.g. KBS Diamond Clear) to ensure a bulletproof finish. The 14-inch model features 6 regions/5 articulations.  Articulation to main jig hook shank is with 100-pound braid . Each articulation exhibits tapered sections of mutiple colors of bucktail which inlcude chartruese, turquoise blue, royal blue, and purple coupled with a white underbelly. Supplemental characteristics of realism feature a topping that includes custom dyed royal blue grizzly hackle feathers, holographic royal blue flashabou, and multiple strands of peacock herl. Additional strands of blue pearl Lateral scale flash represents the lateral line, royal blue hen saddle grizzly feathers simulate the cheeks or gill flaps (e.g. operculum), and 15 mm "Earth" Flymen Fish Co Eyes also provide amazing realism. Ultimately, perhaps the most realistic hair jig ever designed for trophy saltwater gamefishes in Alaska!! GO BIG OR GO HOME!!
